“This is a solid case that looks great, and has one of the highest drop ratings I could find. It fits well, and is easy to install, and covers most of the important access to the phone WHILE leaving access to the new iPhone 16 camera controls on the right side. HOWEVER, the flip up portion that covers the chraging point WILL be the failure point of this case, and I'll be surprised if it lasts more than 4-6 months. Unlike other cases, where this cover hinge point is not part of the overall case structure, when this elements fails on the Case Mate, it is going to affect the overall integrity of the case. So much so, that when it does, I'm most likely going back to an Otter Box....”
“There is a change on how the two pieces go together. On my 13 pro max it was a top and bottom then side clips on a hinge that snapped together. The 16 pro max it is a two piece that first you put the phone into the inner case shell then you put the inner case shell into the outer shell housing which then when put together it make it solid phone case protector.”
“The Pelican Shield Carbon Fiber MagSafe - iPhone 16 Pro Max is a excellent Case, however, the weak point is the included Hoslter in that the plastic pivit piece has a issue and breaks. Pelican will replace the hoslter under warranty, it would be nice if they would include a couple of extra pivit pieces with the case.”
