“Microwaving was my only option for heating this soup, but the fact that the cheese topping was mixed with the rest of the soup was not a downside for me. I had not read the product description carefully enough and was surprised when the box containing the six frozen cylinders said "Vegetarian." For me, the starting point for French Onion soup is beef stock. While this is a very flavorful soup with plenty of onion, there were ingredients trying to mimic the beef component without success. Also, I was hoping for a more "French market style" thick soup with a texture that held everything together by adhesion rather than in suspension. I will enjoy the remaining five portions, but was expecting a different experience.”
“These french onion soups are really good and so easy to cook up. I like the baking choice of preparation the best. It takes longer but the soup is so good and I put an extra slice of swiss cheese on the top. The cheese browns really nicely and it is a nice added touch.”
