About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“I am the happy owner of several pieces of cherry furniture from Chilton: a dining table and chairs, a sofa table, and a small cupboard. I’ve owned these pieces for more than a dozen years. I recently added a custom chimney cupboard to my furnishings. I saw the style I liked on the Chilton website but wanted a smaller version to fit a specific space in my home. It was a fun and easy process to communicate with staff, determine exactly what I wanted, get a price and place my order. My cupboard was ready exactly when expected and I’m enjoying it in my home. Chilton quality is excellent, the staff is lovely to work with and I expect each of my purchases to be family treasures for years to come.”

“I have been living with my new Chimney Cupboard for over 2 months now, and I love it even more now than the day it was delivered- and I was delighted with it on that day! Artfully constructed of beautiful white oak that smells wonderful, I am using this cupboard in my bathroom as a linen cupboard. It’s dimensions are perfect for the little niche it’s tucked into, and those same dimensions hold even more towels & toiletries than I’d originally hoped. I’d also like to mention that Chilton’s used an excellent delivery service for my cabinet. Not only did Peter, the driver, provide me with regular & friendly updates on his progress from Maine to Tennessee, once he arrived I saw with my own eyes how carefully wrapped & secured my piece had been in his van, alongside other pieces he had to deliver. Peter also did a great job getting my piece into the house & into its final spot in the bathroom, despite all of the wiggling around required by a couple of tight spaces along the way. I will definitely consider Chilton again when I need another piece of quality wood furniture. Thank you, Chilton (& Peter) !!”
