Works like a belt. Turn and push end through to form ring shape. Slip onto finger. Adjust to a comfortable fit that slips over knuckles without difficulty. Read the indicated size after determining the best fit. Can be reused as many times as needed! Please keep in mind the Gauge measures 5mm wide. If the ring you are looking to order is wider we recommend you do not pull the gauge tight as this will make a wider ring feel too small. The wider the band the tighter it will feel on your hand. Also it is best to measure your finger at the end of the day. Finally your ring size in the dead of a freezing cold winter will be different than the hottest most humid day in the summer so you may need to account for that.

“I was unsure of my ring size - guessed since my fingers have shrunk and have yet to be "officially" measured. But I wanted to "test" it on my good friend and roommate - was going to ask her size, and if she knew, see if it matched the ring gauge - but she didn't know, so I tried it out on her, and we were able to figure out a good ring size for her that seemed to match the ring she was already wearing. I'd say it's a good gauge. :) Really: it works fine, easy to use, and accurate as far as I could tell. *Not to say this company would sell "fake ones," but there was no manufacturer defect/mis-measure with this pocket-size device. I'm very grateful I purchased it. I can now use it to help others who don't know, or if my finger size changes again in the future. :)”
