This is a fun activity in Stoke Newington, London

Looking for chilled-out London activities to help you escape the hustle and bustle of the city? Sit back, relax and get creative with clay at this pottery making workshop in Stoke Newington!

During this beginner-friendly class, you'll learn all the tips and tricks needed to transform handmade clay into bespoke pottery pieces. Your expert guide will demonstrate hand-building techniques using coils and slabs before covering wheel throwing as you prepare to get hands-on with your clay!

Whether you're a complete beginner or a more experienced clay crafter, this workshop is a great chance to unwind in a London pottery studio as you let your creative side take over.

At the end of the class, your beautiful pottery pieces will be taken away to be biscuit fired and glazed, ready to collect after 4 weeks to display at home or give away as handmade gifts!

Please note:
- Please note: This is an adult pottery class. Participants aged 11 years and over are welcome, provided they are able to work independently in an adult-paced group class. This is not a children's class.
- Your finished pieces will be fired and glazed, ready to collect 4 weeks after the class.
- A materials fee of £5 per piece of pottery kept is NOT included in the class and is payable on the day of your workshop.
-Pieces are ready around 4-5 weeks after the class. We will send you an email when they are ready to be collected. Please check you email and spam folder. We will keep your pots in the studio for a month. If not collected in time they may be disposed of.
- It is your responsibility to arrive on time for the class. Upon arriving to your class 30 minutes or later, we have the right to reject you joining the class without any refund or rescheduling.
- No cancellations or reschedules allowed.
- During summer, there is no air conditioning in the studio, so please bring water and dress for the heat!
- During winter, it would be a bit cold in the studio. Whilst we try our best to keep the studio warm, please prepare an extra coat or clothes to keep yourself warm during class.
- Please enter and leave the studio quietly - the studio is in the middle of the neighbourhood!

** Please note that due to the nature of ceramics, final results may vary and cannot be guaranteed. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Glaze colours and finishes may vary from samples and are for reference only.
- Textures and fine details may appear differently after firing.
- Finished pieces will shrink by approximately 15% during the drying and firing process.
- Minor imperfections, such as small clay marks or uneven surfaces, may be present.
- Pieces may crack, warp or break during drying or firing.

We take every care throughout the making and firing process; however, these are natural characteristics and risks of working with clay and cannot always be prevented.

If a piece is damaged beyond use during the firing process, we will reimburse the £5 materials and firing fee paid for that piece. Class fees are non-refundable.

Hak was great and Cherry was efficient, granted I don’t believe Pottery is my true calling in life it was a good class w/ teacher led learning and ample time to create 2-3 pieces even for beginners. I stopped at one as it was pretty ugly anyway and I was cold. Only thing to note was yes the room is cold as it’s a warehouse type building so wrap up as only one of the two rows of stations had overhead heating, I didn’t notice til 2/3 of way through class and we were all on the unheated side, so would have been proactive of the teachers to just bring over some of the multiple heaters dotted around for the cold side without being asked but we move. No pictures as I was too cold to care at that point.

I really enjoyed the class, TJ is an incredible teacher and the 5 stars is based on this really Couple of bits of feedback, I do think it’s cheeky for participants to pay for their work given how expensive the class is, I would have expected at least one item free. Also the studio is ridiculously cold, would not go back there in winter.

I joined the 3 hour taster session and loved every minute. The perfect mix of creativity and mindfulness on a Sunday morning! Maddy was a great teacher, so welcoming and helpful, very clear instructions. I may now have to sign up to a course to fuel the addiction!
