Perfect for complete beginners, this class offers the chance to relax, get messy with clay, and enjoy the satisfying process of shaping your very own creation on the potter’s wheel.
Under the guidance of our friendly tutor, you’ll learn the essentials of wheel throwing, including:
Correct posture at the wheel
Centering the clay
Opening and shaping the walls of your piece
By the end of the session, you’ll have experienced the magic of wheel throwing — and you might even discover a brand-new hobby (or addiction!).

Private classes are available at a higher fee.
Glazing (clear glaze) and firing are not included in the class price. These services can be arranged on the day for an additional fee (minimum £10, depending on how many pots you’d like fired).
Finished works must be collected within 14 days of notification that your pieces are ready; uncollected works will sadly need to be disposed of.
This class is designed for adults.
Please note: long fingernails may make it difficult to work on the wheel, as the techniques rely on fingertip precision.
