This is a fun activity in Canary Wharf, London

Looking to get creative and try something new? This beginner-friendly pottery class in London is the perfect way to explore the art of wheel throwing — no experience needed!

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of making pottery on the wheel, guided step-by-step by experienced staff, who bring over 17 years of pottery know-how and a relaxed, welcoming teaching style.

With a small class size (max 8 people), you’ll get plenty of individual attention as you learn how to centre your clay, shape your pot, and enjoy the process of creating something from scratch.

Whether you're flying solo, planning a unique date, or coming with friends, you’ll leave feeling proud, grounded, and maybe even a little addicted to the wheel!

Choose Your Creative Experience:

CRAFT – Make a Pot (Take It Home Same Day) Best for one-off experiences & instant creativity.
Use air-dry clay to make your pots, and take them home immediately in a protective box. Once dry, you can paint them at your leisure (we’ll explain how). These are perfect for display — but not food-safe or waterproof.

ART – Make, Paint & Fire a Pot. Perfect for those who want to glaze, fire, and use their creation as it will be food safe, microwave, oven and dishwasher safe once glazed.
This option includes two visits:
- Your pottery wheel throwing workshop
- A return visit 1-8 weeks later (Tues 6:30pm - 8 pm or Sat 11 am - 12:30 pm) for a 1.5-hour painting session
We’ll dry and fire your pots twice in our kiln (up to 1220°C) — a process that takes 2–3 weeks. Once fired, your pots will be food-safe, oven- and dishwasher-friendly. You’ll have up to 12 weeks to collect them or request delivery (extra fee applies).

Why People Love This Class:

You create something uniquely yours

Location Bonus:
Held at the unique Trinity Buoy Wharf — with river views of the O2, the city’s only lighthouse, and a creative atmosphere — you can explore the wharf, grab a bite at Orchard Café, or head over to Canary Wharf for drinks - this isn’t just a class, it’s an experience.

My partner and I had a great time at the Pottery Class. We are absolute beginners but the teacher guided us through making our first two pots! Relaxed and friendly atmosphere . I hope to revisit in the near future.
