This is a fun activity in Greasby, Liverpool

Hello & Welcome to my Pottery Taster Session listing.

Please read carefully what your session will involve.

I have tried to put as much detail as I can, so you can easily decide if it’s for you or not.

The idea behind the Taster Session is to give you time to have a go on the Potters Wheel and try some Hand Building Techniques, so your time will be 1 hour for each activity.

Don't worry if this is your first time working with clay, as the class is designed with beginners in mind. Everything you need will be provided for you, and I will be on hand to give you tips and advice to help you get the most out of the session.

You'll leave the class with a sense of accomplishment and filled with new pottery skills that you can use for more projects in the future.

Depending on which option you choose, you will either take home what you make on the day (your 3 best creations) or leave your creations to have a 9 hour bisque firing followed by a 9 hour clear glaze firing.

Your Pottery will normally be ready for collection 4-8 weeks after your session.
This is very dependant on the weather conditions as the clay needs to dry naturally before it can be fired.

PLEASE NOTE:
Once you have been messaged to say your Pottery is ready for collection your Pottery can only be kept for two weeks as I do not have the storage space to hold your Pottery any longer.

What a fun afternoon! Very attentive but easy going tutor. Pleased to experience both hand building and throwing ( I thought it might be one or the other). Not rushed at all. Will come away with 3 pieces once fired. Would thoroughly recommend

Had a great afternoon with Joan trying out many aspects of pottery, demonstrated very well then real "hands on" for the rest of the session & felt like an achievement to have made 3 items to take away & use. Overall a lovely experience.

I’ve been watching the pottery thrown down for years and have since started collecting various pieces of ceramics, most especially Raku. I’ve been wanting to have go and get a proper feel for throwing and this birthday gift from my husband was perfect. Joan is a great instructor. Plenty of guidance and plenty of opportunity to really get in and learn the basics of throwing. Joan sets you up to so that you can play with the clay before knuckling down to create what you’ll eventually take home. Thanks so much Joan. I really enjoyed my session today.

I had a lovely time during this class, there was 6 of us in total for the lesson. I was able to have a go on the wheel with guidance from the teacher. I had a great time on the wheel, i’d never done it before and managed to create a small vase/pot for myself. Would recommend the class for beginners!

I had a great time - throwing pots is hard but this was a great way to try it out for the first time!
