This is a fun activity in Kettering, Northampton

If you've always wanted to give pottery a go but weren't sure where to begin, this ceramics experience in Kettering would make a brilliant starting point. Under the watchful eye of experienced potter Louise, you'll take to the wheel as you learn the techniques to throw your own earthenware mug or bowl.

In this serene pottery experience, you'll learn each step of the process at your own pace, using white earthenware clay to build your own unique vessel. Don't worry if this is your first time trying pottery, as you'll have help and guidance from Louise throughout the session. She'll show you the proper way to use the wheel as you shape, mould and guide your clay to its final form.

Everything you need will be provided on the day, so you just need to show up and enjoy two hours of creative zen. You'll leave the class happy, creatively refreshed and eagerly awaiting your piece's return from the kiln.

Please note:
- This session is perfect for people aged 16+
You will need to arrange to collect (in about two weeks time) once fired, or your pieces can easily be posted at cost.

We had a wonderful pottery experience with Louise. She was friendly, patient, and made everyone feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Her guidance was clear and encouraging, making the session enjoyable whether you were a complete beginner or had tried pottery before. Louise’s passion for pottery really shines through, and she helped make the whole experience fun, relaxing, and memorable. We left with smiles on our faces and would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to try something creative and different.

A great two hours learning the basics with Louise in a lovely atmosphere. Instructions and demonstrations given to the level of the students. Well worth booking a session for yourself or as a gift for someone else.

Louise was a very good tutor who kept the instructions to the ability of the class and made everyone feel as if they could make a pot or dish without too much difficulty. A drink on arrival and a few minutes nattering made all the pupils relax and ease the apprehension that was there at the start. An enjoyable session that saw everyone complete at least one credible looking item. Well worth the time and effort if you are thinking about it!

What a lovely way to spend a few hours. My only gripe is that the time flew by so quickly. Louise was welcoming, knowledgeable and encouraging. The studio space was perfect, with calming music and the right temperature. We were blessed to be visiting on a crisp winters day with the sunlight flooding in through the windows. The pottery itself resulted in two functional pieces which I've decided to paint, so I will be revisiting the studio soon for an additional cost. It was something I'd wanted to do for a long time, and taking that first step into the world of throwing with the expert guidance of Louise was perfect. Whilst mildly intimidated by the amount of information, it sparked a dream inside me. I can't wait to do it again.
