This is a fun activity in East Finchley, London

Note: the price shown is based on two people attending the same session.

Private class for two people (ie £180 per person.) Perfect for a date night or treating someone special to a unique activity, in this 1:2 session you will have the studio to yourselves while you dive into the exciting art of glassblowing. I run sessions every weekend and some weekdays.

Taught by Samantha Sweet, a glassblower with over 20 years experience, you will both design, then make 2 glass pieces each which will be yours to keep.

During this experience you will both
– Have a minimum of one hour of hands-on bench time each
– Make a solid glass piece (eg paperweight/candle holder)
– Make a blown glass piece (eg drinking glass/vase/bowl)
– Gather molten glass from a furnace.
– Shape hot glass using a variety of tools.
– Add glass colours of your choice

5 mins walk from East Finchley tube station or free parking is available. Classes are held in my studio with a view over the park.

All materials and safety equipment will be ready and waiting for you, so all you need to do is show up and get ready to create. Refreshments are available during your session.

Please note: Your glass will have to be annealed overnight and have to be picked up or posted out to you at a later date at a cost of £20.00 for all your pieces together.

We had a wonderful time doing the workshop with Samantha. It was a very hands-on experience (which made it extra fun!) with plenty of support. Samantha is lovely, very experienced and gives great guidance. Everyone doing the workshop can make two items each, a smaller, solid piece (e.g. incense holder, candle holder, paperweight) and a larger one such as a water glass/vase. I would recommend this workshop to anyone considering doing it, and have already spread the news to a lot of friends!

Had an absolutely amazing time blowing glass, I booked this for my husband and I, so glad we did and would do it again and again! So looking forward to seeing our final pieces. Sam made us feel so comfortable there, super knowledgeable and fun. We really got stuck in doing everything ourselves. Thank you Sam for a wonderful experience, highly recommend anyone to give it go!
