Perfect for complete beginners, this relaxed 2-hour wheel throwing class is the ideal choice if you've always wanted to learn to throw a pot on the wheel in a fun, supportive environment.

Experience the magic of turning a lump of clay into your own handmade piece of art. You'll throw under the guidance of one of our friendly local teachers, who has plenty of tips to share, and you'll come away with the foundational skills for making beautiful pots on the wheel.

Beyond the new skill, there's the calm — wheel throwing is genuinely meditative, and two hours of it is a proper reset. Step into this warm and welcoming studio and leave with your own handmade pottery.

There's space for 8 people per class, so everyone gets their own wheel and individual attention. It's ideal for date nights, birthdays, friends, or coming on your own to try something new in Manchester.

At the end of the session, choose your favourite pieces to be glazed and fired in our kiln for £7.50 each, with a wide range of glaze colours to pick from. Finished ceramics are food-safe and usually ready to collect within 4-6 weeks. We can post them to you if you can't get back to the studio.

“I attended a beginners pottery throwing class and, unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the experience. The class was advertised as a beginners session, but I felt there was very little guidance or support provided. The teacher appeared to focus most of her attention on one particular table and one individual, leaving the rest of the group with limited assistance when we needed help. There was also a lack of clear communication around basic practicalities. When several of us ran out of water for the clay, we went to refill from the tap as we had not been told what the process was. We were then spoken to in a way that felt unnecessarily reprimanding, rather than being given guidance or support. Clear instructions at the start of the session would have avoided this situation. Overall, I felt there was a lack of enthusiasm and engagement from the teacher, which was disappointing for a creative class where you would expect encouragement, patience and passion for the craft. The collection process for the finished pieces was also inconvenient, with weekday-only collection slots and no weekend options. When we collected our pottery, there was again little interest shown. Unfortunately, some pieces had issues after firing, including chips appearing after glazing/firing and some items being finished in a different colour to what had been requested. It was disappointing as pottery is something that should feel creative, enjoyable and inspiring. Sadly, the experience left me feeling that the focus was more on running the class as a source of income rather than sharing a genuine passion for pottery and helping beginners develop their skills. With regards to the actual gifting of the experience, this was all good and no issues there.”

“Was a really fun experience, but i believe the quality did not align with the price point for this experience. We started late as others who were attending the workshop were late (the location is not easy to find) and as a result the explanation took up longer than it should have. Moreover, charging £45 per person and expecting them to clean up (without being able to take pieces home) is a bit cheeky.”
