If you're keen to learn hand embroidery, this workshop is for you.

In this 3-hour workshop, you will learn the basics of embroidery and start your own embroidery piece. Held in Paraffle’s studio in St Margaret’s House, Edinburgh, this workshop is ideal for anyone who is new to embroidery and looking to explore their creativity.

All materials will be provided, and you will have access to a range of patterns and designs to choose from. During the workshop, you will be guided through the fundamentals of embroidery, including different types of stitches.

No prior experience is necessary for this workshop, and all levels are welcome. Sammy will be on hand to offer guidance and support throughout the session.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll know the basics of hand embroidery, and have the skills to start creating your own pieces at home.

“Fabulous beginners embroidery class. Sammy was so patient and encouraging. I was very impressed by how much she taught us in a very short space of time without feeling rushed, in fact it was very calm and relaxing. Book the class, life is too short. You might surprise yourself.”

“Really enjoyed the beginners embroidery class. Teacher was great - very clear explanations and demonstration of the various stitches at a level and pace which made it very easy to follow. Good sized class - 5participants - meant that she was able to give extra individual support when required. Kit provided was very good quality and comprehensive with written instructions and links to online help with moving forward with project. Would definitely recommend class”

“This workshop was brilliant! Learnt all the key stitches and got all the bits to take away to get you started. The pack you get to take away is so helpful to remind you of anything you might have forgotten from the class. You get to pick your own design which I really liked. Sammy was so helpful and patient which made the session so relaxing. Would highly recommend especially if you have never done a single stitch before!”
