If you're keen to learn hand embroidery, this workshop is for you.

In this 3-hour workshop, you will learn the basics of embroidery and start your own embroidery piece. Held in Paraffle’s studio in St Margaret’s House, Edinburgh, this workshop is ideal for anyone who is new to embroidery and looking to explore their creativity.

All materials will be provided, and you will have access to a range of patterns and designs to choose from. During the workshop, you will be guided through the fundamentals of embroidery, including different types of stitches.

No prior experience is necessary for this workshop, and all levels are welcome. Sammy will be on hand to offer guidance and support throughout the session.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll know the basics of hand embroidery, and have the skills to start creating your own pieces at home.

“Our instructor was just great, really clear instructions, wide variety of patters to choose from (all beautiful so it was a tough choice!) and worked at an excellent pace. “I had such a lovely time at this embroidery workshop and would really recommend to anyone looking to pick up a new skill! Sammy was so good at explaining all of the different stitches and you get to practise them whilst creating a beautiful embroidery design. Her workshop is so light and airy and the perfect space to spend a few peaceful hours! It would make the perfect gift for someone creative and crafty too!”

“Excellent workshop. Very calm and patient teacher who gave very clear instructions and advice. Made a start on a piece of embroidery and got everything we need to carry on and complete it at home. Also got clear written and visual learning material to take away in case our memory fails us. Learnt a lot in a short space of time. A very pleasant and instructive way to spend a morning.
