This is a fun activity in Elstree, Watford

Join us for a pottery class in Watford at Sarah Core Arts' studio and experience the exciting world of wheel-throwing! In this 2.5-hour workshop, you'll learn how to centre on the wheel and throw a beautiful pot. And the best part? No experience is necessary!

Whether you choose to work on a genuine Leach wheel or an electric wheel, you'll have the opportunity to switch between the two, adding an extra element of fun and exploration to your pottery journey. Our friendly and knowledgeable instructors, Sarah or Rebecca, will guide you through the process, making sure you feel comfortable every step of the way.

A Leach wheel focus (treadle wheel) is available for 1 person sessions. Daunted?  You are not alone.  Some folks struggle with the idea of mindfulness creativity and physical effort working together but working with the treadle wheel allows a slower moment of connection with the what the clay is ‘doing’ might have been missed on the electric wheel. We can work with sensitivity in the way we respond to these moments to allow the pot to progress.  Sarah is with you all the way in this special 121 session.

Don't worry if you're a complete beginner – this workshop is designed with you in mind! The studio will provide all the materials and tools you need to create your masterpiece. You'll work with high-quality clay and glazes, giving your finished piece a professional touch.

Once your pottery is complete, Sarah will fire it to a high standard, ensuring a beautiful finish. You'll be able to collect your creations a few weeks after the session, allowing you to proudly display your handmade pottery at home or give it as a thoughtful gift to a loved one.

Join us on this pottery adventure, and unleash your creativity in a supportive and welcoming environment. Book your spot today and create lasting memories in our pottery class in Watford. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to learn a new skill and engage in a fun and rewarding activity!

We signed up for this session out of curiosity about what it is like to make a pot on a wheel. The whole experience was so much better than we imagined - fascinating but also deeply relaxing and the time went very quickly. Sarah is very pleasant to be with and a great teacher as she is extremely knowledgeable about her craft but can also break the process down into manageable steps, while catering for right and left handers at the same time. We very much enjoyed this session.

My wife and daughter recently attended a pottery course and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The session was great fun from start to finish and the teacher was fantastic—friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable. They were both made to feel welcome straight away and the guidance throughout the session made it easy for beginners to get involved and create something they were proud of. It was a really enjoyable and relaxing activity, and they both came away smiling and keen to do it again. A brilliant experience overall—highly recommended for anyone looking for something creative and fun to try!

Our teacher was amazing, very calm, knowledgeable and patient. We each made a unique pot and are looking forward to seeing the glazes once fired. We enjoyed the whole experience, learning different techniques in a relaxed environment.

We had a wonderful pottery experience with Rebecca today, she was so welcoming and really took the time to guide us through the stages of making a pot (or bowl as mine decided to become!). She stuck the perfect balance between sharing her expertise, whilst also encouraging us to experiment and learn for ourselves. We had lots of giggles throughout and left the class definitely wanting to do more!
