This is a fun activity in Northampton

Looking for a creative break? Join us for a fun 2hr taster pottery class in Northamptonshire, where you’ll get your hands dirty learning the basics of throwing on the wheel or hand building. Whether you're completely new to pottery or just looking to try something different, this session is perfect for exploring your artistic side!

Once you’ve arrived and settled into the studio, you’ll get to decide whether you want to try out the wheel or dive into a hand-building project. Either way, we’ll guide you through the essentials, like centring the clay on the wheel or shaping it by hand, so you can get started on your very own creation.

You’ll have the chance to make up to two unique pieces and apply surface design techniques and choose glazes to make each piece individual. This is a relaxed, session, so there’s no pressure; just come along, have fun, and create something you’ll be proud of. It’s all about trying something new, learning a skill, and having a good time!

Notes
- It will not be possible to use the electric wheels if you are fitted with a pacemaker.
- shorter nails are better for wheel throwing, but we can work with nails you cant bear to trim

We took part in the 2 hour pottery taster session on our wedding anniversary, run by Karen in her lovely little converted Chapel. The session was just what we were after, where Karen guided us through decorating a coaster, then helped us to use the pottery wheel, which was great fun & interesting. The group was just the 2 of us & Karen, where Karen was knowledgeable & patient. I would highly recommend this course. We travelled an hour to visit & ate at the lovely local pub, The Bald Dragoon - where booking is recommended.
