What we do Learn:
In this 3.5-hour art class in London, you will explore and learn professional watercolour techniques, including wet-on-wet, and dry-on-dry, using the highest quality painting materials available on the market. By the end of your first class, you will complete a full watercolor landscape painting.

Throughout the session, we'll guide you in recreating a painting, ensuring you grasp each step from sketching to inking, and ultimately to applying watercolour. We provide four landscape watercolour painting samples, allowing you to choose your preferred subject matter. Each sample focuses on specific techniques for practice.

Additionally, we'll show you how to select various watercolour tools from the art shop. This includes selecting suitable watercolor paper, mounting techniques, choosing pigments, and matching them with your brushes. We will also provide tips on using all the materials, so you don't need to prepare any tools in advance.

The Material We Use: Professional Quality for Beginners
We believe that using the finest tools is the secret to falling in love with watercolour. We provide everything you need, so you can enjoy a professional experience without the high cost of buying your own gear:

· Premium "Mistake-Proof" Palette: You’ll use my personally curated palette, combining the best pigments from Daniel Smith, Winsor & Newton, Sennelier, and Schmincke. These professional colours stay vibrant and won't turn "muddy, " making it easy for you to mix beautiful tones.

· The Gold-Standard Paper (Arches 300g): We use 100% cotton professional paper. It absorbs water beautifully and stays flat, ensuring your painting looks clean and high-end even if it's your first time.

· Professional Squirrel Hair Brushes: These soft, high-quality brushes hold more paint, allowing for smooth, fluid strokes that synthetic brushes just can't match.

### Our Secret Preparation: The Perfect Surface
· To ensure you have a flawless experience, I personally "Wet-Mount" your paper before you arrive. This is a professional, time-consuming technique where the paper is soaked and stretched onto a board.

· Why this matters to you: It means your paper will remain perfectly flat like a drum, no matter how much water you use. You can focus entirely on your creativity without worrying about the paper buckling or puddling—a luxury usually reserved for professional studios.

For a beginner, this is one of the best classes I’ve attended. The teacher is a practitioner, so her tips are incredibly practical and useful-you really learn all the little tricks that make a difference. It then becomes easier to practice on your own, especially since watercolours are both fun and challenging. She genuinely cares and clearly loves what she does. You can see this in the way she teaches, how thoughtfully she sets up the class and the attention she gives to each student. This was the best gift I received. PS: Take your own water there’s no fountain to fill your bottle for drinking. And take an apron if you’re worried about messing your clothes. Other than that just go to enjoy, learn and have fun!

Loved attending this watercolour course. Our teacher was fantastic at explaining and demonstrating the art of watercolour and the different techniques involved. Enjoyed chasing paint on wet paper, using dry on dry along with the different applications gained with waterproof ink. Really pleased with my finished result and had fun creating it! I would highly recommend!

This class was excellent and I'm so happy I made the last minute booking - it's really up to you if you want to be a chill painter or be enthusiastic and nerdy (I was probably the latter). The teacher is super smart, talented and friendly, and the studio and small number of other students all lent a lovely cosy atmosphere to the class. If you're lucky, some more advanced students might be there to take inspiration from and a big pile of snacks and tea (from the teacher's hometown) was provided to munch on while you contemplate your next move. The painting you create will be mounted and wrapped up professionally. If you finish early you can even paint a bookmark. I came in feeling very nervous about watercolour, but the teacher explained the process in a methodical way which really helped me gain confidence and inspired me to buy a new paintbrush from her (no shilling, I just asked) - the materials offered were all very high quality and enjoyable to use. If you are interested, she will give you grounded advice for materials, and made a really big effort to demonstrate each technique practically which felt valuable from a professional. Thanks so much for the wonderful experience. :)
