This is a fun activity in Balham, London

In this hands-on and cultural workshop, you'll gain informative knowledge and techniques about the revered and elegant art form that is Japanese floral design, Kado - the way of flowers.

- Ignite your creativity in an exquisite zen garden setting; a living canvas of lush Japanese trees, tropical plants and cascading foliage thoughtfully designed to offer a calming retreat.
- A relaxed and friendly workshop where you will be provided with an exceptional choice of seasonal fresh flowers, branches and selected foraged elements.
- I am a certified tutor of the Sogestu School of Ikebana Japan. I always guide you personally through the process step by step, offering treasured insights and valuable practical tips through observing, cutting and arranging your flowers.
- My sessions embody the meditative aspects of Ikebana – helping you to slow down, connect with nature, and express your innate artistry through natural materials.

I welcome participants of all skill levels, requiring no previous flower arranging experience. The Japanese approach to floral design focuses on form, space and balance. It is accessible for complete beginners yet fascinating for those with creative experience.

I like to keep my classes intentionally small, maximum 4 participants, as this way I can offer mindful guidance and individual attention in a serene setting.

At the end of the session you will have created your very own unique Ikebana arrangement – a beautiful reflection of your creativity and new skills. Flowers/plant material are wrapped and yours to take home.

Had the best time making the arrangement with Tara, and so did my mum! We did this as an early birthday activity for her and she loved it. Tara is very knowledgeable, teaches well and the environment harbours creativity. Couldn’t recommend more!

My Mum and I had a wonderful time at our workshop on Saturday. The session was great, we learnt about all the history and attributes of Ikebana but also it was very hands on and I loved being able to create with Tara. Would definitely recommend :)

Tara was insightful, yet collaborative in our Ikebana class today. It was the best idea as we were able to learn, create, and take away our art! Highly recommend her class! Thank you for a lovely morning.
