“Ali was great - clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about sachiko. I'm not an experienced nor natural sewer but was instilled with confidence and really liked the fact after intial Instruction task we could go in our own direction.
As a teacher I've been to lots of classes where the lead might be knowledgeable and skilled but don't deliver effectively -Ali does!
I loved the other people and the great chat as well as the sewing - I'd be happy to come every week if im honest and it has definitely inspired me to continue with Sashiko. Excellent class highly recommend.”
“It was an amazing quiet Sunday to enjoy a few tips and tricks on embroidery. Our mentor was relaxed and offered to make teas and coffees so many times. Having a smaller group allowed for a lot of one on one discussions and advice on how to go about personal projects.”
“It was such a lovely relaxed class. Lots of great information and time to really get stuck into actually doing the craft. We got to make a sashiko sample and then either bought a project along or could choose from the lovely selection of materials available. I would highly recommend this class.”
“Great class, I liked the combination of starting on a small prepared design then moving on to projects of our choice and seeing the variety of what people did.”
“If you're thinking about doing these sessions, do it!
Amazing session and really really wonderful teacher! In only 4 hours I learned about the history and uses of Sashiko as well as creating my own decorative piece and a few practice goes. I went with my friend and we learn at different speeds but we were both encouraged by the teacher and the other students, and the atmosphere was so lovely. We felt like we were safe to make mistakes and ask for help. Really looking forward to finding another session to attend!”
