Make a pattern that fits your measurements in this London sewing class. It's ideal for intermediate sewists and improvers who want to make their own garments.

From your teacher's Canning Town studio, you'll be guided through the steps of making a basic fit block pattern and how it can be used. Your teacher Claire will provide all the equipment you need and will adapt the class based on your abilities. With 6+ years experience teaching sewing skills and 15+ years experience in sewing, garment construction and alterations, Claire is well equipped to take you on your sewing journey.

You will make a paper block that is perfectly designed for your measurements. It's an ideal tool for all your sewing projects like making your own clothes. If you know someone who would love to move up in their sewing journey, this makes for a wonderful gift experience.

Once you have your bespoke fit block pattern, you can go on to do all sorts of clothing design! It can be used to make shirts, dresses and even jackets. We can't wait to see what you come up with.

“I had a great session, learnng how to make a paper tailoring pattern. I took along something that I'd like to copy and learnt how to copy the design. I feel confident that I will be able to do this with other garments. I can also attend another class if I am unsure about anything. It was 1:1 so I was able to ask my own questions and the level was understandable. Clare was kind, and fun and I feel that I learnt methods for making which I will use in the future. Thanks Clare!”

“Great 1-2-1 session with Claire on pattern making. A much-needed opportunity to ask lots of questions and work through things in person. Claire was paitent and explained this clearly. “I really enjoyed this class. I was surprised by how much we got to fit in (we did 2 patterns measured to my sizings) and didn't feel overwhelmed or intimidated by the process. Claire explained things in a really easy way to understand and had loads of extra knowledge that she was happy to share, including book recommendations and where to buy supplies.”
