This is a fun activity in Manchester

In this ceramics taster class in Manchester, you'll be guided through the process of throwing clay on a potter's wheel. You'll have a wheel to yourself for the duration of the class and as much clay as you need to experiment and get messy!

Don't worry if you've never tried throwing before, our wheel intro sessions are designed for complete beginners. In a small group of 5, you'll have plenty of assistance from your tutor, Georgie.

At the end of the class, you'll be able to choose your 2 favourite pieces to be glazed and fired. You can choose a glaze colour for each one and you'll need to come back and pick these up 3-4 weeks after the class finishes. If you don't live in Manchester, we can arrange postage for an additional £5 payable on the day.

Suitable for ages 12+ if attending with an adult.

A really great class - well instructed in a small group so you got lots of attention when you needed it. Really enjoyed it. The 2 hours went very quickly!

Fantastic morning, Georgie was so helpful and spent time explaining how to do everything, having a small group meant we were not left alone and came away having made some lovely pots. Can not recommend enough and I would happily return for another session. Thank you ☺️

Great class! The actual throwing was harder than it looked, but Georgie was an amazing teacher. There were only 4 of us in the class, so it really felt like we got a got amount of hands on help and instruction. I am super excited to see my pieces once they are glazed and fired!

The pottery class with Georgia was a great experience! There are only a few people per class so there's lots of opportunity for asking questions and one on one coaching. Georgia was very supportive, understanding and helpful and welcoming highly recommended this class.

Absolutely brilliant afternoon! Loved every minute and Georgie was a patient and very skilled teacher. Honestly I could have carried on for hours, totally fell in love with the wheel, and looking forward to signing up for more sessions. Cannot recommend it enough.

Had such a lovely time at the Familia Clay Wheel Workshop! It was our first time working with clay, and we honestly didn’t know what to expect, it definitely wasn’t as easy as it looks, but it also wasn’t as bad as we feared (lol!). Ended up making some really nice pieces (at least nice for us) and had so much fun throughout the session. A special thank you to our teacher, Georgie, who was incredibly kind, patient, and easy to communicate with. She made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. We would absolutely recommend this workshop to anyone thinking of trying pottery, and we’ll definitely be back in the future, hopefully with kids too!
