This is a fun activity in Canary Wharf, London

Spice up your London staycation and bring a touch of Spanish cuisine to the capital with this flavour-filled cooking class.

Hosted on a beautiful Dutch barge houseboat moored in private marina next to Canary Wharf, this interactive workshop is guided by a friendly local expert, Tere, who'll show you how to whip up a Spanish / Catalan classic using high-quality ingredients and fresh produce. You'll discuss Spanish food, pick up new techniques and watch some handy demonstrations before taking over to try yourself!

It doesn't matter if it's your first time getting creative in the kitchen either, this beginner-friendly class is the perfect chance to broaden your culinary horizons and will help you learn to cook a delicious new dish in a calming environment.

If you would like a drink with your food you can choose from a bottle of good quality Cava or in summer months, a jug of freshly made Sangria (Tere's authentic recipe), tick your choice in add-ons.

Extras: If you are learning Spanish and would like to use the experience as a private Spanish tuition class whilst cooking please check the add on fee which will give you a language lesson along with the cooking! Your host teaches Spanish to privately to students outside of cooking classes.

At the end of your workshop, you'll get the chance to enjoy a sit-down meal as you taste-test all of your hard work. The next time you're looking for indoor activities, you can pull out your pans and relax with the amazing aromas of Spanish food.

If just one person books then the class cannot proceed, please be aware that if there are less than 2 guests, the class will be cancelled or postponed.

NOTE: The teacher has a beautiful, fluffy and super friendly Ragdoll cat, if you are allergic to cats please consider this before booking for yourself or gifting to friends.

We had such a fantastic time at this cooking class, easily 5 stars! Tere was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The food was delicious, and we loved learning how to make some Spanish staples. Tere, her partner Colin, and their adorable cat made us feel so welcome, and the cozy houseboat setting added something really special. Great conversation, great food, and a really memorable experience. We’d absolutely recommend it.

Absolutely fantastic experience. My 16 year old went with a friend for her 50th birthday and they both had the best time. Truly recommended as an experience!

We had great fun during this experience. Tere, the host was brilliant, her knowledge about Spanish cooking was excellent. The food was very tasty and we all agreed we will definitely be making these dishes again. Tere took photos throughout and made a collage to send us along with the recipes which was great. Highly recommend.

I bought this experience for my husband's birthday last year as it sounded more interesting than other days out - I mean who learns Spanish cooking on a boat? I did have some concerns, - my husband is the foodie and I had visions of me being stuck chopping mountains of onions and garlic whilst he and the teachrer bonded over some rare and overpriced ingredient. I also wondered if it would be awkward being in a stranger's home eating dinner. I need not have worried. Tere is so warm and friendly that within minutes we felt like we'd dropped in to see an old friend. We were made to feel really welcome and we had proper conversations, not just one sided monologues, although Tere has lived an interesting life and her stories were very entertaining. The boat is also amazing and adds to the whole experience. Tere cooked all the food talking us through what she was doing and she introduced us to seasonings we'd never heard of before. When the meal was ready it was delicious and better than a lot of meals we've actually eaten in Spain. Tere took photos thorughout the day and as she's an artist, they came out beautfiully. We also got to meet her beautiful fluffy cat which made us feel honoured! When our day was finished, Tere sent us all the photoss, a step by step guide of how to prepare the food ourselves and a list of ingredients , where we could buy them, and how we should use them. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time, Tere is an engaging and knowledgeable teacher and I would recommend this course to anyone with an interest in good food. We will definitely be going back to try some more of Tere's amazing cuisine. I cannot recommend this experience enough - it makes a fabulous gift for someone special or a lovely treat for yourself! Thanks for a great day Tere - hope to see you agian soon!
