Guided by a professional pottery artist, Suzan, this class will begin with an introduction to the materials, processes, and basic techniques of wheel throwing. Your teacher will provide a quick demonstration so you can see exactly how the craft is performed before handing things over to you to begin molding and shaping your clay.

With a maximum class size of two students, Suzan will be on hand to provide plenty of one-to-one support and answer any questions you may have. Looking for things to do in London with kids? Bring your little ones along and play with clay together! Swap screens with a creative and interactive hobby all while enjoying some quality family time.

By the end of the class, you will have created a beautiful selection of pots and get to choose your favourite piece to be glazed by Suzan, ready to collect at a later date and display at home!

Please note:
Your final pieces will be ready around four weeks after your class and will be posted to you when ready.

We made 3 bowls each. The teacher, Suzan, was supportive and helpful, demonstrating the making of one first, and articulating the different steps really clearly. We then took over the wheels with Suzan continuing to offer valuable instruction while giving us space to experiment and helping us recover if those experiments went slightly askew. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time doing the beginner's pottery class for my partner's birthday! Suzan was very friendly and lovely, she was very patient with us when showing us how to initially use the wheel. The two hour slot was enough time for us to make four different pieces, highly recommend her class to anyone who doesn't know how to do pottery!

We had a fantastic time in our class with Susan. She was warm and accommodating and made us both feel incredible chill about it being our first time. She explained everything clearly and then left us to try new things. Can’t recommend this class enough, we have both found a new hobby from it.

It was a great class, good instruction, really friendly and we both managed to make three pots! Chose out favourite to have fired and glazed with a choice of glazes too. Thanks Suzan for a great class

Great class! Suzan is an amazing teacher. She provided enough guidance but also gave us the opportunity to try it by ourselves and make mistakes (and correct them). It was lovely having a private class with just the two of us - we learned a lot. I can't wait to see the end result!
