Guided by a professional pottery artist, Suzan, this class will begin with an introduction to the materials, processes, and basic techniques of wheel throwing. Your teacher will provide a quick demonstration so you can see exactly how the craft is performed before handing things over to you to begin molding and shaping your clay.

With a maximum class size of two students, Suzan will be on hand to provide plenty of one-to-one support and answer any questions you may have. Looking for things to do in London with kids? Bring your little ones along and play with clay together! Swap screens with a creative and interactive hobby all while enjoying some quality family time.

By the end of the class, you will have created a beautiful selection of pots and get to choose your favourite piece to be glazed by Suzan, ready to collect at a later date and display at home!

Please note:
Your final pieces will be ready around four weeks after your class and will be posted to you when ready.

We went for 2hrs in a pair and came away planning to go on a 6week course. Suzan was a relaxed and happy teacher that let us learn with a standing back approach. She demonstrated the technique and skills first whilst we watched her. You then make four pots. The first with a bit of her help. The rest she stood back allowing us to make three pots from start to finish by ourselves so we could really get the feel for it. Suzan was a great teacher and it was a peaceful and relaxing studio. I highly recommend this day course.

This is a wonderful experience, especially for creative people who enjoy hands-on experiences. It is led by a lovely, friendly and patient teacher who clearly explains and demonstrates before letting you have free reign with your creations whilst supervising and ensuring that your final pieces will look their best. I highly recommend this experience. I went with my daughter and we had a wonderful afternoon.

Great location, situated in a beautiful old building at the edge of a pretty park. Our teacher was very knowledgeable and gave us a demonstration before we started. She was patient and her guidance as we got to grips with the pottery wheel was excellent. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience, we have already recommended our friends to have a go.

I bought this class for my partner’s birthday, he’s been wanting to try a pottery wheel for ages. He loved it! Nice venue in East Ham meant it wasn’t booked up like the more central locations plus we combined the trip with a delicious South Indian lunch on the high street. Can’t wait to see the beaker & bowl he made once they’re fired.

Had the most wonderful experience in my 121 session with Suzan, she was super friendly and very patient. This was my first time in pottery making and she allowed us to experiment and enjoy the moment. It was a very therapeutic session in a lovely location.
