“New experience for me. Learning a new drawing technique via zoom. Jean gave a great background about this simple way to calm your thoughts or just have some mindful time for yourself. The information sheet is really helpful before the class and then Jean guiding you calmly through the easy breath work and marks of the drawing. The lines and patterns of the drawing are something my brain enjoys, no strict ideas, your own ideas start to flow as well. Super easy to incorporate into my day.”
“I came into the workshop feeling quite stressed from a hectic week. Then with a marker in hand, the drawing action, exploring different strokes, incorporated with breathing as well as Jean's calming, guiding voice, I found my thoughts gradually arrive at a moment of quietness and gratitude.
Even though I struggled to draw straight, even lines (was annoyed at myself initially), I've come to enjoy the process, and was pleasantly surprised with my drawing at the end. Happiness is never about perfection!
So glad I learnt a new technique to calm the mind, when the world feels too crazy. Meditation alone has not been very effective for me, since I tend to fall asleep... But I'll definitely do more meditative drawing like this, and play with different size markers, colours, and ideas!”
