Introductory Glassblowing Workshop Reviews

5 Rating 104 Reviews
Glass blowing! Don't panic - the pole is long enough tp make sure you don't burn your lips. Nick was out teacher - cheerful, relaxed, and can spot a potential injury well in advance, so you are in excellent hands. At the end of the workshop (and after a few days for your creations to cool slowly) you will have two works of art of your very own: A brilliantly functional paperweight of swirly coloured glass, and a drinking vessel that does not leak (unless you drop it). Also the workshop is filled is brilliant masterpieces that call out to you to buy them. Should you do it? Yes. Will you learn things: Absolutely. Will you enjoy it: You will be surprised how much.

We made a paperweight (taking turns) and then drinking glasses with four students working together. The process was fascinating and fun. The class was well structured, the teacher was helpful and knowledgeable. I loved the process of adding tiny chips of colour to molten glass and then seeing the colours stretch as the hot glass was manipulated.

Such a fun and unique experinece! Nick was very knowledgable and extremely patient, offering gentle guidence and support (even when I started a small fire!). Working with glass is harder than it looks, but we were all made to feel really comfortable and I had an absolute blast! Definitely looking into booking in and intermediate class next and going back for more.

This class introducing us to the art of glassblowing was amazing and quite intense. My daughter and I loved every minute of it. Nick, our teacher was talented, knowledgable, patient and guided us through the process of making a paperweight, then, a tumbler. We left feeling very clever and buzzing with excitement. We can't wait to see our finished pieces. Thanks Nick. We have an absolute blast.
