I had the absolute pleasure of taking a stained glass suncatcher class with Hideko in Dulwich Hill, and it was a truly memorable experience. From start to finish, Hideko's passion for her craft was evident in every step of the process. She is incredibly knowledgeable and approachable, and I felt so welcomed in her beautiful, light-filled studio, which was brimming with plants and positive energy.
What stood out most was Hideko’s flexibility and dedication - I was lucky to be the only student at the class, she made sure to give me her full attention, providing clear, thoughtful guidance. She walked me through every step of creating my suncatcher, explaining each technique verbally and illustrating the instructions so I could easily follow along. Her patience and clarity made the entire experience feel so enjoyable and stress-free.
Hideko’s work with glass is simply stunning—her art and jewelry are exquisite, and it’s clear that she pours so much love and skill into everything she creates. To top it all off, she even provided sweet treats, which made the class feel even more personal and special.
I left the class not only with a beautiful suncatcher I could be proud of but also with a renewed appreciation for stained glass as an art form. “My husband and I had the most amazing time! Hideko was such a fantastic teacher, and the studio is beautiful. Time absolutely flew by and we could have spent hours longer creating more suncatchers and chatting with Hideko. Not only did we have creative freedom to pick colours and make our own design, but we got to work on every single step of the process ourselves with Hideko wonderful guidance - copper foiling, soldering and final clean + polish! I would go to Hidekos class again in a heart beat, and may have been convinced to start this as my own hobby I loved it that much!”
