“We learnt to mix gold dust with glue. I think this was easy enough to youtube and a class is not needed. After applying glue, it meant that our broken plates, bowls and mugs were no longer food safe. Would've liked to have learnt the history and meaning behind kintsugi. Teacher was friendly and helpful. Beautiful venue with hot drinks provided.”
“Helpful ant patient teacher with obvious expertise. Perfect venue and everything you need provided. I enjoyed myself thoroughly. A way to meditate for those of us who just can’t bring themselves to sit still!”
“This was a lovely class with a calm and knowledgeable teacher. Great explanation and demonstration with plenty of time to work on pieces. I purchased the extra ceramics from the teacher at the booking stage and was very happy I did. They were beautiful. I also took in some pieces from the Op shop. I walked away with the confidence to keep working on this at home...and lots of ideas for future projects.”
“My mum and I loved spending our Sunday morning doing Modern Kintsugi. We loved the metaphor behind the art, and found the process very therapeutic. Our teacher, Daisy, was so lovely and willing to help with anything we needed. It was great that she explained everything at the start with a demonstration, and then we were left to ourselves to work on our own project. This way, the process was very relaxing and we could go at our own pace without rushing to keep up with the teacher/class. Highly recommend, and can't wait to continue this art in my own time!”
