The teacher was great - Fatih provided clear explanations and also told the history behind the lamps. He also was hands-off in a good way and if we had any questions, he was there to assist. There were some snacks and coffee available. The lamp making itself was so fun! There were lots of colors to choose from and the patterns were easy to follow. I was nervous that the glue wouldn't be dry enough to bring it home but I made it back with minimal amounts of loss/shifting. The plastering portion was done at home, which I was excited to continue when I got back. The lamp turned out beautiful, as did everyone else's in my group! I did this class for my birthday and I was given a gift at the end, which was unexpected and so sweet!

Very fun and accessible, I worried I would not have time to finish but it was actually a very relaxing and therapeutic process. Unique activity to do with friends, family for date night.

We booked this workshop for team building and everyone enjoyed this two-hour class! The instructor of Turkish Mosaic Lamp is responsive, friendly and definitely know how to teach and guide. The vibe is cozy and lighthearted. We had a fun day and took our very own masterpiece home.

We had the most fantastic time with Fati! This was such a fun and unique experience made richer by a very knowledgeable, patient, and creative teacher who even did a capstone thesis on the history and art of mosaic lamps and created them himself! And you end up with beautiful lamps to take home. My only wish was more color options, but understandably that wasn’t possible at this time. I recommend this to individuals, couples, families with older children, and really anyone :) You get in and are welcomed by the teacher, either Nusrullah or Fati, who are from Turkey and are well-versed in mosaic lamps. They’ll set you up with their kits that they make themselves and after some instruction, you’re free to design based on your own imagination. There’s water provided and bathroom access. It really does take the two hours, so give yourself time and allow yourself to slow down and enjoy the pace. At the end, your instructor will help you set up your lamp to test it and ensure it works and you’re satisfied, you’ll take pictures, and he’ll help you take down and box up your lamp to take it home (I recommend bringing a large, flat bottomed tote). Then at home, you’ll plaster it according to the instructions and let it dry overnight before giving it a wash to bring out the tile work. All needed items, from plaster to tweezers to tiles to the lightbulb, are included.
