Kintsugi and Wabi Sabi Workshop Reviews

4.7 Rating 34 Reviews
I got this class as a birthday gift for a friend and we both had a chance to go together. We had such a good time and made such cool friends. The instructions were great. The environment was super friendly and calm and we ended up with a really cool cup that was customized. I would recommend this class to anybody who is looking for a fun experience as well as something that helps you connect.

I loved the Kintsugi class! The teachers explained and demonstrated everything very clearly and stayed on top of things. As soon as they realized we were going to run out of alcohol, they sent someone out to get more , so barely any delay. My only suggestion is why not get beautiful, old cups from thrift stores to break and learn on instead of brand new ones? Used cups and bowls cost almost nothing and “reuse” is so much better for the planet! I brought my own broken coffee cup to use in the workshop and it means so much to me that it is now a Kintsugi treasure.

This was my second time doing this workshop after almost two years. I really enjoyed Riley and his team's work and wanted to go back to help repair a very large pot, very dear to me, that broke in transit and I assumed to be completely lost. The team provided all the assistance, materials, and encouragement I needed to complete the repair during the workshop. All the while, this is happening within a space that focuses on awareness, mindfullness, and deep care for the impermanence of all thing. I'm very grateful to Riley, Sydney, and Gaby.

Great class! At first was surprised by the size of the class but it was run clearly, amicably, and efficiently, and everyone received the attention they needed. We were all happy with our work. When we were running very short on one supply (rubbing alcohol), the instructors ran right out and got us more in five minutes. That said, they seemed to have miscalculated the overall volume of supplies needed for a group of this size (24). Four of us had to share one bottle of glue, eight of us shared one roll of paper towels. It didn’t ruin the class but every minute or two we had to ask, “Can you please pass the ______________?” and this was followed by “Me next!” “Then me!” “Wait, don’t pass it. I still need it.” That small inconvenience won’t prevent me from taking another class, and I hope they’ll take the feedback positively. Overall a great way to spend an afternoon!

I had great time in the class. Reilly and his assistants explained the process clearly and provided a lot of support. I am very happy with my repaired mug.
