“The teacher did not come around to check on us as he and his assistant did with other tables unless specifically requested. I expresses dismay at my project turnout that had a whole chunk missing. It was not explained that all pieces may not be recovered and he gave a very flippant response to my concern.
It did not take 1 hour to sand the pieces down, this class did not have to be 3 hours long.
The teacher either forgot antiperspirant or did not shower before class. It was very off putting.”
“The teacher, Riley, was both organized and relaxed as he walk the group through the activity. All the materials were provided for each participant to create their own kintsugi-inspired pottery piece. Some attendees brought their own cermamic item and Riley helped each person as needed. Along with the hands-on activity, Riley also offered basic insights about the kintsugi philosophy, from Japanese culture. Overall, the class was quite fun, especially as something new and different to try.”
“Absolutely loved Riley’s workshop today!! He taught us the basics of Kintsugi with patience and humor. The way he helped us see Kintsugi as a metaphor in our lives was wonderful. The technique he taught was both practical and super-easy way of learning the craft of Kintsugi.”
