“Rug tufting looks a bit challenging, but after receiving proper instruction, it was so easy. All the colors were set up perfectly, the instruction was great, and Keith was amazing! My design was curby and we could be able to find design ideas in the studio, that one was very helpful. Will come back!”
“I want to be fair and state that learning to rug tuft was a fun and different craft to try with friends over a weekend, and we met some lovely people during the class.
However, the overall organization of the class and the lack of follow-up communication have been frustrating. Similar to another reviewer’s experience, our instructor was juggling multiple classes at once (rug tufting, candle making, and mosaic lamp making), while also handling check-ins and managing people coming and going. Because of this, the class felt less like a guided experience and more like a studio drop-in where we were largely left to figure things out on our own.
We also ran into issues with materials. There was a noticeable lack of yarn colors: no yellow, orange, white, black, or other neutrals were initially available. It wasn’t until we were halfway through that the instructor remembered there were partial yarn rolls tucked away, which could have been helpful earlier on.
The biggest disappointment, though, was related to the advertised add-ons. I had pre-purchased frames through ClassBento so that my friends and I could leave with finished, display-ready pieces. When I asked about them at the start of class, the instructor seemed confused and said "I don't know why that's offered online, we don't have frames here." She suggested I contact the owner and took down my information, but despite reaching out twice, I haven’t received any response.
If the class had simply been a bit informal or chaotic, I could have overlooked it, as the instructor seemed stretched thin and doing her best with no additional support. But the lack of transparency around what’s included, combined with no communication regarding a partial refund for unavailable add-on frames, is disappointing.
I never write reviews, but I felt it was important to share this experience given the operational issues with this class.”
“My partner and I had a lot of fun in this class! We'd never done tufting before but are hooked. Our instructor was great and everyone in the class was super nice and supportive. We'll definitely go back for another class!”
“1. The arts classes are supposed to be fun and interactive. This was anything but that.
2. It was total chaos. Overlapping tuft classes with previous class and our class overlapping.
3. There was no flow. The teacher did not provide dedicated attention and knowledge to us in calm and patient manner. He was rushing all around everywhere and was borderline rude and condescending at times.
4. Same Teacher wad handling 3 classes at same time- tufting, candle making and lamp making. This was not going well for anyone.
5. Lots of yarn colors were not available and the teacher did not even bothered to look for them.
6. We had birthday dinner booked at 7.30 based on our class timing of 4.00 to 6.30. Our class went to 8 because it did not start until almost 5, teacher distracted with other classes and many more reasons.
Overall I can provide so many details on how and why this is going wrong. After paying almost 190$ and on a special birthday activity, this was not expected. I demand this review to be taken seriously and a refund should be provided for this type of worst experience.”
“Loved the idea of the class. Teacher was very nice and helpful when you found her. Teacher was sick and exposed all guests to whatever was brewing. Just one teacher supporting multiple classes at the same time, kinda frustrating. I wanted to just be chill and have a mellow time dabbling with something new. Also, a handful of colors weren’t available. I guess stock needs to be kept up. My group of friends were helping the new guests that came in so they weren’t just sitting around. I’d try another class but would hope to find another teacher there. Number 1 tip before you confirm your project, check the color stock first.”
