“My group arrived at Nose Best about twenty minutes before class was scheduled to start. We were pleasantly greeted by the woman working the storefront and she encouraged us to browse while we waited for our instructor to the back. The storefront is modest in size, but very well curated. In addition to a sprawling candle selection (with well thought out names/concepts!), there are incense made in house and other cute kitschy things. I took this time to smell all I could to get an idea of what combinations I’d want to create in the workshop.
Our instructor, Cristian, greeted us warmly in the storefront, and brought us back to their workshop. The room was nice. It was neat with a good sized workspace for each of us, the lighting was soft and the curated playlist went well with the ambiance of the room. Cristian gave us a quick run down of the process and the tools at each of our placemat.
We started by picking our vessels, then we were given the option up to two scents for our candles. Cristian was very patient with us during this process, and gave feedback on our choice when we asked. We then wicked our vessels and poured our candles.
There’s a wait time between processes, and Cristian seamlessly filled that time with trivia and kept us engaged. Cristian gave us up to 8 characters to name our candle, and in the downtime he stamped our custom names onto our custom candles. While waiting for our candles to cool down we were offered board/card games and our group had a ball playing uno.
We took this class to celebrate my mom’s 50th birthday, and earlier that week her boyfriend asked our family for our blessings to marry her. We knew he’d propose on her birthday, but during that cool down time we agreed it was the perfect time to ask.
We surprised Cristin with the engagement as well (sorry!) but he handled everything very gracefully and remarked we were the first engagement in their candle making class and that his co-founder Brittany would be sad to miss it. The environment he created with his energy and presence did help create that “perfect timing” for the proposal.
Once our candles cooled, Cristian packed up our new candles and thanked us for our time there.
Everything about the class was thought out from the vessel selection to the pacing. Cristian did an excellent job with everything.
We went back into the storefront with the $5 vouchers we were offered and picked up a few incense and crystals.
I raved about this class experience to my friends all week and my candle smells lovely. I can’t wait to visit the storefront again.

“My girlfriend and I went here on a date, and it was a great experience! Our teacher was very friendly, bubbly, and funny. There was a great selection of fragrances, it feels like you have endless possibilities of making a great candle. The music was great and to cap the class off we had a cup of Rosé.
Would highly recommend. Might even book another class again to try something new. And, 100% will be back to the great candle shop out front!”
