“The Sip and Pour Candle Making Class was interesting, enjoyable and fun.
Marla the moderator of the class and first was very kind in conducting the class for myself alone. Marla was very nice and explained very well what would I would be doing during the class.
First order of business was for me to select the fragrance(s) I would use for the candle and the fragrance(s) for the diffuser (the add on I selected). When I asked she provided some assistance in helping to chose which fragrances would complement each other.
After my selection of fragrances, I was given a cup of hot wax to pour my fragrances; a combination of Santal and Spiced Wood; and was instructed to stir for a minute or two.
I was then provided with a selection of various colored dyes to be used for the candle. After selecting my colors; green and yellow; After placing the dyes into the wax and mixing the dyes for two minutes, I poured the dyed wax into the container; see picture; and then allowed it to set at room temperature for a few minutes. After partially setting Maral refridgerated the candle for about 10 minutes to further set.
While the candle was setting I went to work on the diffuser, adding my fragrances; Lavender Honey; I poured it into the diffuser, mixed diffuser oil and then sealed the diffuser. I was then given instructions on what to do upon arriving home. on how to use the diffuser.
When I completed, the candle was removed from fridge and I then added some surface decoration of dried rose, lavendar, sandalwood and lilac. When done placed cover on and given instruction to wait a week before using. Also, instructed on how best to burn the candle.
I am very pleased with the class itself and the results of my efforts.
