I would recommend using an ionizer as it takes care of algae. I was told that after the first year, I would only have to replace it every 2nd year but I've had to replace it every year so that's more expensive.

This Spring we converted our pool from a salt chlorinator system to a ClearBlue ionizer system, at the recommendation of our pool company's Sales Manager & he was right! The system can be self-installed with basic tools & great instructions or can be installed by a 3rd party. The ionizer unit is very well designed & user friendly. Within a short period of time we had the minerals balanced to recommended levels & other than a small tweak a couple of times, we don't need to touch it! We are really enjoying the reduced chemicals, especially the ability to reduce chlorine levels. We also found a new use for our salt generator box (see photo). We have recommended ClearBlue to other pool owners & 3 are very happy with their ClearBlue units, 1 a salt conversion like ours, 1 a chlorine conversion & a new pool, which was going to be salt. Highly recommended!

ClearBlue ionizer made our gunite pool like a clear freshwater lake in our backyard. My wife swam almost every summer day. (Prior years: she swam once or twice per season b/c of the stickiness and feel of the chlorinated water). Balancing was much, much easier; I used 2 chlorine pucks a week in the chlorinator and did not need to shock. Excellent customer service – ask for Viktoria. ClearBlue was my BEST purchase of 2020 + 2021.

Simply the best pool investment I have made in 10 years. The pool is crystal clear and all my chemical/algae problems have disappeared. Everyone has commented on how clear the pool is and I cannot tell you the hours saved dealing with chemicals and filters..without a doubt the best investment you can make for your families health. I only wish I hasd known about this 10 years ago.

Changed last year from the salt water element to ClearBlue ionizer and couldn’t be happier! Absolutely amazing, water feels great, no residual smell of chlorine on the skin at any time, maintenance is much easier (and cheaper!). Had to call support only once with a few details to confirm - the representative I talked with, Viktoria, was absolutely amazing: knowledgeable, courteous, professional, was able to answer all my questions and shared a few very helpful tips during conversation. Already recommended the system to all my friends with pools

This Ionizer is amazing! I have had it for my 32 x 16 above ground pool for 2 years. The only chemicals I use are to open and close the pool. No more Chlorine, no more Algecide treatments, nothing! Just balance your alkalinity, plug in and you're done. Highly recommended and virtually no pool maintenance outside of vacuuming. The picture was taken in mid August, opened the pool 1st week of June. Zero maintenance except regular vacuuming when needed. Will change your life.
