Dear Kim, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that this clock has not met your expectations. The clock is designed with materials that are lightweight yet achieve a very modern look and feel for a chiming wall clock. The dial is printed on brushed metail, the black rectangular shapes that float through the back of the dial are a sturdy yet lightweight metal and the body of the clock is painted composite board to provide stability and durability. And it is manufactured in Germany. Surprisingly, it is difficult to achieve this modern look and feel with many of the chiming movements so the speaker is concealed and not visible from the front. This clock uses an alternate German movement with the speaker housed inside the movement. If the chime is not corresponding correctly with the 12 position, it is likely the minute hand has moved in transit or when setting up the clock. This can be rectified by simply pulling off the black cap / button end on the movement, then gently lifting the minute hand off and pushing it back onto the shaft in the correct position (three and a half minutes forward). Then push the black cap / button back on the pin.
