I was disapointed in the original one as it only lasted one season. After talking to tech support, they indicated the original ingitor is only rated for so many strikes (ignitions) whereas the ceramic unit is like 3 times more strikes so it was a no brainer for me as I don't want to have to change this every year.

We had a ton of issues when we bought a model from Lowes, though comfortbilt's tech support was the best I've ever had. We eventually returned the Lowes model and bought direct from comfortbilt, which worked right out of the box. Still had some issues, but that was entirely caused by my placement and installation, nothing with the pellet stove itself. This is our 2nd pellet stove, as the first was an older, but extremely expensive and powerful model that was brought with our housemate, who has since left and took it with him. This model was half the price (within our budget), and while it's not as powerful as the one we used to have (part of the reason I had issues initially with the 2nd one, a weaker exhaust fan), it still does a good job keeping the first floor comfortable of this otherwise-incredibly-leaky and uninsulated old house, especially since it actually blows heat out through the front vents instead of radiating countless BTUs out the sides and back like other pellet stoves. The only reason I'm giving it 4 and not 5 stars is because the hopper has some rough angles inside that make it stop feeding pellets properly when there are still several pounds left inside.
