I would be happy to help you navigate the application process, as I know it can take some time.
You want to make sure that your eyelid is clean and free of any oils or lotions before starting the application process.
We provide a starter tool to use as tweezer to be able to lift the strip from the plastic, however, if you find that you are not successful in grabbing the strip without damaging it, and have not purchased our needle nose tweezers, we recommend using a pair of clean tweezers that you have at home to be able to lift the edge end of the strip carefully. Please do not lift the strip with your fingers, as our hands have oils on them. When lifting the strip from the plastic, please make sure you are not pulling, but rather gently lifting.
Once you identify the right placement for the strip (the fold of the eyelid where the skin is sagging) you will want to lift the eye, and place the strip over that fold.
After the strip is placed, please make sure to use the "press and hold" technique, rather than swiping across. This will ensure that the strip is bonded and translucent.
If you decide that you would like to wear eyeshadow, you are welcome to do so once the strip is properly placed, however, we recommend using non-mineral oil based primer on top of the strip before applying your eyeshadow to ensure that the eyeshadow applies to the strip.

“The product does a good job of lifting my eyelid (I have only one that is hooded), but I was really disappointed when I tried to apply eyeshadow. I purchased the pencil primer (can't remember the name) and used as instructed. When I put on eyeshadow, the strip became SO OBVIOUS. I could never go out in public like that. Because I always wear eyeshadow, I will not be able to use the strips :( I'm so disappointed. I should have known because in all of the demos, no one shows the strips with eyeshadow on their eyes....just on their hand. The eyelid skin is different...thin and some wrinkles...but the strip is super smooth--so the contrast looks terrible.”

I would be happy to share some tips on the application of the Primer Pencil.
First be sure to place your LIDS BY DESIGN strips to the eyelid. The COLORSET is oil-free, so use the warmth of your skin to melt the pencil when applying onto your fingers, or your skin. Apply to the strips as much as you would prefer, be sure to blend. When we don’t use the COLORSET to blend, shadows can adhere to the strip differently than the skin, showing the strip to be visible. Apply any makeup as usual (matte eyeshadows work best), be sure to start at the edges of the strip. The COLORSET is designed to help your shadow pigments pop, be more resistant to water, and seal the edges of your strip for all day use.

“It says you can't see the strips and that is not exactly true and when you use the primer pencil over the strip you can see a significant difference between your skin and the strip and I don't see a huge difference in putting on eyeshadow you can still see the contrast”
