“I did not realize when I first ordered this product that I was dealing with a Chinese-based company and that all of the interactions, including communications and shipping, would therefore be coming from overseas. I only found this information out - as it was not listed on their website, cosplaysky.com - by getting reviews off YouTube from those who had previously ordered from them. However, once discovered, this explained the lack of thorough communication I received from them when asking questions about the costume prior to ordering; very specific and direct questions kept getting incomplete answers or not getting answered at all. This caused me some concern. And it was this concern that sent me to YouTube to find out whether or not the company was worth dealing with.
Since CosplaySky is overseas, it would make things very difficult in size ordering and therefore swift returns and order corrections if it had been necessary. However, after doing some research I was comfortable enough to go ahead and order, seeing other customers who were satisfied with not only the customer service interaction, but the speed of delivery and quality of their orders.
I am mostly in agreement with these other customers. CosplaySky does have a reasonable quality product, especially for the money spent on a whole costume as opposed to only a part of one. For example, had I had the cape for my Count Dooku outfit custom made, that alone would have cost me nearly $200 United States dollars. CosplaySky included the entire Count Dooku outfit - minus the belt - for $129.00 (US). I will not say that the quality of the outfit is superior, but it is better than average and I will give it 3.0-3.5 stars overall.
Although there is a size chart (which I used for a thorough measuring of myself prior to ordering), even though I ordered a large size, the outfit does feel a bit tight in some areas and just slightly - very slightly - short in the sleeves and pants. Perhaps when the website mentioned these sizes they did not distinguish between an American large and a Chinese large. Once I received the product and tried it on, it got me thinking that maybe I should have ordered an extra large instead. My recommendation to anyone ordering from this company is to completely measure your own body size and then consider getting one size larger if you are not having your outfit custom made by CSP.
These are my chief complaints, including the fact that the chain used for the cape measures over 12 inches (0.3048 meters) in length, way too long to effectively secure the cape without it falling off one's shoulders unless the chain is cut down in length. A 6 inch chain would be more than sufficient for most people for a complete costume like this one.
Also, you should know that this Count Dooku outfit is not 100% authentic to the movie character's. There are slight variations, one being the clasps used on the cape which are very generic as compared with the elegantly designed ones used in the movies. Further, the pants have a pocket cover on the right backside, but there is no actual pocket. Why this design element was even included I don't really know, and regard it as entirely unnecessary considering it serves no function whatsoever.
Altogether, if you are looking for a complete and decently made Count Dooku costume for a cheap price, this outfit works, and the company is reasonable. If you want a high quality item, you will more than likely have to spend high quality money or make it yourself. I wanted a complete Count Dooku outfit in a short amount of time which is why I ultimately decided to order. Overall, I would say I am 75-80% satisfied, but will proceed ahead with my plan to have a custom Dooku costume made here where I live so that I can be personally involved with its creation from start to finish.
Again, CosplaySky is not a bad company. And for the price I paid I do believe I - mostly - got my money's worth. I will order from them again if I need another complete outfit in a hurry. Otherwise, I will take my time and have a custom product designed with quality materials and professional tailors.”
