“The cake looks great and has a nice texture. However, it is overly sweet. I had expected a mix of flavours and mainly I had expected a very fruity type of cake. However, the combination of sweet sponge cake, jam, white chocolate balls, cream, made it very heavy. I have a sweet tooth but i found this too much. My partner used lemon juice on it to make it less sweet. I think a mix of fresh fruit and lighter cream would have been great. It is a mango cake, so I expected something much lighter. Luckily I ordered a very small one and we didn't have to throw most of it away.
The cake is also extremely expensive (add to that the high delivery cost) and there are far better tasting brands at a much lower price. It would be OK for a £20 cake, just because it is so good looking.
Also I am disappointed that you had to pay £5 to get something written on it.
Not planning on ordering the same cake again.”

“Unfortunately, something in the cake was quite drying and dried my mouth with every mouthful. Have had C&S’s Carrot&a pumpkin, Blueberry, Double Choc and salted caramel and their brownies and cookies and they’ve all been above amazing, so this was a tad disappointing ☹️”

We bake our products fresh daily, use all natural ingredients and make product quality a priority. The cake should be served at room temperature at which point the sponge should become light and fluffy and not be dry. We are not sure if you had stored it in the fridge, but this might explain the dry cake layers. “Looked lovely and beautifully presented. However the cake itself lacked any flavour, and sponge was quite stiff. The only flavour I could make out was the mango. A shame as I’ve had cutter & squidge cakes in the past at the shop and was blown away.”
