“Unfortunately, I was disappointed with this easter cake. Due to the image / description I was expecting this to be indulgently chocoately but the flavour was just too muted.
The sponge was moist but due to the cornflake chocolate centre, as soon as you tried to cut into it, it just crumbled apart.
The Sponge flavour was delicate but needed more chocolate to counteract with the buttercream icing as this is just tastes sweet with not much caramelised chocolate flavour coming through either.
The caramel drizzle was amazing but very sparingly drizzled which was a shame (much less than the image shows) Had this had been used in the middle of the cake I feel the salt could have boosted the flavours better. Sadly, this didn't really end up getting eaten which is a first.
I have purchased other cakes instore and online a few times now so in future I think I'm going to stick to the longstanding flavours if I do order again.”
