“Replaced a high compression abled starter, The starter was a plantary reduced gear ratio one. This replaced starter lasted a couple of years, before falling apart internally. The new starter from Dennis Carpenter is a quality unit for a stock Ford flat head V8. The fact that its not gear reduced means it cranks over much faster and engine fires right away. Bought this starter for a different truck before and the modern starter drive works better than the old spring starter drive system also. I feel very confident that this old Ford truck will start, well every time.”
