“I was amazed to even find this available. I remember my Dad (who was a mechanic) rebuilding generators in the early 1970's. The armature and the bearings were first rate, but the ring terminals on the brushes were too small for the mounting bolts. I cut the terminals off off the old brushes and soldered them to the wires on the new ones to make it work. Be prepared to fit the armature shafts to the bearings. They are just slightly oversized, but that's a good thing so that you can get a solid fit with no slop. If you enjoy doing this sort of work, definately pull the trigger. But if you expect to just drop the new parts in, you might get a little frustrated. I enjoyed doing it, and saving $350 -$400 by not buying new was pretty nice too”

“I am rebuilding the generator from my old Ford and this kit is just what i needed. It would have been nice if you had included the field coils but i did find them elsewhere so no big deal. The kit did wok and all is well.”
