“Bottom line, Seems to work. Truck temp and fuel gauge used to peg to the right after the heater was on for a while. Now it seems to not do that. When I start the truck, the fuel gauge rises slower that it used to, but I can live with that. I was able to do the job without removing the dash. Instead I pulled out the left panel, AC vent, and using a mirror and a 1/4 spinner pull out the old and install the new regulator. Removing and snapping in place the 9 volt style connector was quite troublesome, but eventually got it done.”

“I have gone through several old contact point design regulators over 25 years on my '85 F250 6.9 diesel 4x4. The old design always wandered quite a bit and was subject to failure. The new solid state style is much steadier.”

“I installed regulator on 81 f150 and found it didn't sit flush on back of gauge cluster like it is suppose to in order to make good electrical contact. I redrilled mounting hole about a half of a hole closer to the regulator and it fit right up. Been using it for at least a month now, gauges seem to be reading good.”
