“I picked up the Devos LightRanger 4000 about a month ago and it has easily become one of the most useful camping and emergency items I own. Yes, it’s larger than many of the smaller camp lanterns on the market, but that extra size translates into substantially more light output and a much wider coverage area. It lights up an entire campsite instead of just a small table or tent area.
What I really like is that while it provides impressive area lighting, it’s still much smaller and far more portable than the Goal Zero Skylight which I have owned for about two yard. I have found that due to its size. I have avoided taking it on most of my camping trips. The LR4000 is easy to pack, quick to set up, and practical for trips where space matters.
This light is especially perfect for group camping trips, particularly when everyone is sharing food and hanging out around a common cooking or dining area. Instead of everyone relying on separate lanterns or headlamps, the LightRanger 4000 creates one bright central gathering space that makes cooking, eating, and socializing much easier after dark.
It has also come in very handy during a power outages. Being able to quickly light up a large room or common area with one portable unit has been incredibly useful and reassuring. Overall, it’s a versatile, high-output light that works equally well for camping, emergencies, and backyard use.”

“When providing light, the LightRanger is an asset in a dark environment. On a recent camping trip a fully charged light only provided about 2 hours of illumination at 1/2 power. The solar panels did not charge the lamps in 10 hours of full sun. After returning home, it took a day and a half to charge to 100%. I like the lights very much but I won’t put all my trust in them again - I’ll have battery lanterns fo backup.”

“Great light! I know it’s newer but wish it could change colors as the other model does for insects during camping. Also the extension rod locks are a little flimsy and feel cheap. Otherwise it is great!”
