“First time trying Macallan.
My usually go to whiskies would be an Aberlour 12yr double casked or an Ardbeg Uigaedail.
I was very impressed with the Macallan. Strong caramel notes yet more subtle than the Aberlour. Lovely vanilla notes in the mouth and overall a very smooth whisky.
Obviously a very different whisky to the Uigaedail which a peaty whisky so no fair comparison to make their. If you like peaty whiskies the Macallan is at the wrong end of the spectrum for you. If you like an Aberlour or a Ben Raich then you will enjoy this.”
