“This didn't have sand sticking in the fibre, it did get stained after my son put suncream on and got sand in the cream when rubbing on his ankle area. Washed and stoll there.”

They fold up small so are great for packing and they dry really quickly. I've not tried it on sand as yet but will be taking them away again later in the year and will do the sand test then.
