I think that many of us think that Australia is hot and dry, maybe wet in some seasons. I found that the variety was so enjoyable-- weather, habitats, birds, reptiles, plants. I enjoy birdwatching but Nature and all its variety is almost overwhelming in Australia. I was pleased that we were introduced to Aboriginal Culture during this tour. I recommend this trip to anyone who wants new experiences and new Nature.

Birding from the get-go. Knowledgeable guides provided a great introduction to the birds, landscape, and people of the Northern Territory. Good accommodations. A few meals on the fly were sort of make-shift, but that was a small price to pay for the excellent birding. And some super meals more than made up for those. I had a great time and the tour more than met my expectations. Well worth it.

What a treat to be with a guide whose respect for locals--other guides, wait staff, boat tour operators, everyone--meant they went the extra mile for Barry, to our benefit! But what stands out for me now was seeing the birds in this starkly beautiful land in the context of its ancient Aboriginal rock art.

One of three trips I took with Eagle-Eye Tours in the fall of 2017, the tour was an unqualified success. Two great leaders - Barry Davies and Rob Elvish - who were able to show us much of the Darwin area and beyond. We did not only focus on birds, but other wildlife as well, and we visited an indigenous site with rock paintings, an area with magnetic termite mounds and much more. A particular highlight for me me was seeing several of the very colourful finches of the area, including Gouldian, Crimson, Masked, Long-tailed and Double-barred.

The bird diversity in the Northwest territory is fantastic and quite different than the Eastern section of Australia. We also really enjoyed the accommodations. Kakadu, Fogg Dam and Pine Creek are excellent birding areas.
