This tour was perfect for my wish to get an overview of Neotropical birds. I saw representatives of most families, and could place them in context. The guides were excellent, and took great trouble to give us all good views.

Terrific tour. Lots of fabulous bird sightings at Tikal, Guatemala and at many locations in Belize. The guides were absolutely stellar.

This tour provides a great opportunity to stay at two premiere birding lodges in Belize (Pook’s Hill & Bird’s Eye View) and to bird the nearby Tikal National Park in Guatemala. Pook’s Hill provided lush rainforests, mountain pine & agricultural field habitats, while Bird’s Eye View Lodge is located on Crooked Tree Bird Sanctuary, a large lagoon and expansive wetlands with a nearby pine-oak savannah. Two boat trips on the lagoon provided up close viewing and photographing opportunities. Tikal is noted for its huge, pristine, protected rainforest and ancient Mayan city and temples. Our lodge was right at the gates to the park. We had excellent birding, guides and accommodations. We can highly recommend this trip.

Belize is a gem and the birds are so varied. The elusive Agami Heron was a star! It was fun to see many of our Canadian birds that had migrated there.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Belize/Tikal trip. Yousef was a very congenial leader, skilled at finding us great birds, and he maintained his composure in spite of some of the "bumps" that we experienced during the trips. The country is beautiful, the birds were plentiful, and really interesting, lots of diverse ecosystems to explore.
