This is a tour for people who are focused on relentlessly building a list of birds. The company delivered that. However, if you are interested in a deeper experience with nature and genuine encounters with birdlife, you should consider other options. Our six previous birding trips with another company were more versatile, inclusive, and broader in appeal. On the tour itself there was some weakness in keeping participants safe, comfortable, engaged, and well-informed. Problems and issues were sometimes not properly addressed, notably a question about whether the company had obtained the permits necessary to operate in a Canadian National Park. The claim that “Most days have a small to moderate amount of driving” is misleading. There were frequently long tedious journeys in the vans. One of the two vans was unsafe and painfully uncomfortable. The guide was knowledgeable, personable, and seemed genuinely concerned about the participants. As a local expert, he was excellent resource person for the tour. However, as a group leader he was disorganized, uncertain, and sometimes lackadaisical on administrative matters. He showed little sense of how to engage the group as a whole. He wasn’t “on top of things” and was unwilling or unable to address some aspects of the tour.

Not Bad but could be better including more time to look for Polar Bears

A fast paced tour covering different birding and mammal environments. Best suited for experienced birders who do not mind early starts and long drives.

Very complete tour. Delivered on its itinerary. Birding from early morning to evening, with options to go or not to go. Very active tour, covered a lot of territory, many birding habitats and Churchill was an great experience. Hundreds of beluga whales including babies, 4 polar bears including a mother an cub. Accommodations all good. Both guides knowledgeable and excellent.... always searching to find that final bird or animal sighting.

By combining a birding portion in southern Manitoba with the beluga/polar bear portion, it made the ideal tour for me.

This tour offered lots of birds and mammals and scenery in Manitoba. The pace was a bit hectic however. Lots of miles in the van. Polar bears and belugas amazing.
