Birding in the Costa Rica off season ( early October) proved to be wise choice. The tour was set up to take advantage of fall birds migrating from North America and especially to see one of the great birding spectacles in the world----the Raptor migration along the south Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Having a top notch bird guide who was also an expert in orchid identification made every day memorable.

This is a well organized trip with a fabulous itinerary that allows visitors to see hundreds of birds in many different regions of Costa Rica. Our guide Ernesto was fantastic, finding us rare birds and introducing us to the scientific work that's going on in CR. All of the places we stayed were top notch and we had few concerns about Covid safety as most activities and meals were outdoors.

This is our fifth trip with Eagle-Eye Tours and we were not disappointed. It was great to experience Costa Rica's Caribbean side during October when many North American bird species are heading south. We also were enchanted by the lowland tropical rainforests of Cahuita and Tortuguero, and our guide, Ernesto's impressive understanding of Costa Rican wildlife made the trip very worthwhile.
