With one exception, we saw every endemic in Cuba. The accommodation on day 1 in Havana was BAD but in a way that brought the group together so it was okay (not the leader's fault). The Cuban guide was mediocre but the Eagle Eye Toursguide made up for it. The food was generally bland but adequate with a few exceptions that were great. Travel days tended to be long but necessry to get the endemics. The Bumblebee Hummingbird was a treat.

This was an excellent tour. The guides were great, the birds were great, and the logistics worked out well. There were occasional minor issues that are likely characteristic of the country, such as occasional water supply or pressure issues in rooms, etc., but nothing significant to quibble over.

Again, led by Hector, our fave guide, along with two of the best local Cuban guides, made the Cuban tour wonderful in every way. Not only did we see enough new birds, but we also felt as though we had seen Cuba at its best. Accommodation was fine but not fancy; food was different and interesting, and the residents we met very friendly. One example: a local guide took us into his (absent) sister/s home to use the washroom! We highly recommend this tour, not only for the birding, but as an excellent way to get to know the country of Cuba.

I had a marvelous tour throughout Cuba thanks to our guides whos names I cannot remember right now but for some reason I remember the birds. Highlights were the Cuban Tody, Cuban NIghtingale, Cuban Trogan and of course the little Bee Hummingbird. I enjoyed the walks-hikes through the forest with the limestone sinkholes. Meeting the local people was a real delight and there is something peaceful and serene about their agricultural lifestyle that we do not have. I think you have to go to Cuba to really appreciate it its wilderness and culture.

I've travelled with Eagle-Eye three or four times now. And there is a reason. When I return home, my memories are not just of the great birds I've seen, but of the culture and natural wonders the pleasant pace that Eagle-Eye uses, allows. It affords a more rounded experience than many of the other companies I have travelled with. In Cuba, with its rich cultural and birding, this paid of in spades. We saw all but one of the endemics, from the Bee Hummingbird to the Cuban Trogan. We had an introduction to cigar manufacturing and had some time exploring the Bay of Pigs museum. The food and lodging was good to excellent and our guides, Colin James and Hector Gomez de Silva got us on to everything we wanted.
